March Toward Inclusion: Gender Diversity Lunch & Learn

Come celebrate Gender Diversity Week with us!

The College of A&S Office of Inclusive Excellence, in partnership with the Department of Psychology, will hold a Lunch & Learn event where students can engage in informative activities focused on family & community diversity and receive UK swag while enjoying a free catered lunch! The Lunch and Learns are open to all A&S graduates and undergraduates, but do have a maximum capacity for student participants--so be sure to RSVP using the QR code or link below.

Take Root: A Reproductive Justice Panel

Panel: 12:30-1:45pm, UKAA Auditorium, WTY Library

Evening Reception: 5-7pm, Lyric Theater 

 

As part of the Year of Equity programming, this panel brings together organizers, activists, and healthcare providers from national organizations red states to discuss challenges, approaches, and perspectives in advancing reproductive justice. Centering on the experiences and leadership of women, trans, and non-binary people of color, this panel will present latest community research, initiatives, and advocacy on reproductive justice.

In addition to the Year of Equity, this event is co-sponsored by the departments of Anthropology, Gender and Women Studies, Sociology, and Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies; the Office of LGBTQ* Resources, the Center for Health Equity Transformation, the Center for Equality and Social Justice, Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health, the National Advocates for Pregnant Women, and Kentucky Health Justice Network.

UK Professors Give a Positive View of LGBTQ Identities

What was expected to be a small project attracted such an inspiring amount of positive feedback from the community, that the authors wanted to share the stories with a broad audience. Using personal narratives from their research, their book focuses on how LGBTQ-identified individuals can cultivate a sense of well-being and a personal identity that allows them to flourish in all areas of life.
